"Wonga" is a well-known English slang word for money. It also sounds a bit like a tropical island. The kind where pirates might like to hide their “booty.” 

 

I created the concept and wrote the copy for this x-sell mailer to all new Virgin Money customers. It folded out into a ‘treasure map’ introducing the other financial products, following a tongue-in-cheek/parrot-on-shoulder, pirate theme.
